Dear ,
For years, I'd heard that color plays a strong part in marketing.
This is in terms of marketing psychology.
Most people quickly dismiss the role of color in buying decisions. It's too esoteric and "out there" for most business owners.
What if I told you there is a science to color psychology and it all makes a lot of sense.
A marketing colleague, Nick Kolenda, breaks down how colors impact whether people might buy or not -- and after you watch the video, you'll just might be a believer regarding the impact of color in sales. At least, you'll think twice about it.
Here are a few things you'll glean from the video:
Dark Colors Look Heavy (See Image Above)
Why does that matter? Because heaviness depicts many ideas:
- Durability. Dark products look more durable (Hagtvedt, 2020).
- Pricing. Prices have abstract weight. You want them to seem light and small, so place them on white backgrounds.
- Importance. Heaviness implies importance. In one study, information seemed more important on a heavy clipboard (Ackerman, Nocera, & Bargh, 2010). Perhaps a testimonial on a dark background would “carry more weight.”
Have a great weekend!
Until next time...
And, remember, K.I.C. (Keep It Coptic).
