As far as I know, no one has ever gotten ahead by making excuses.
Colonel Sanders was "too old" to start a business.
The Wright brothers knew that no one had ever
flown.
Florence Chadwick knew that others had died trying to cross the English Channel.
Henry Ford faced a "lack of demand" for his automobiles.
David was, by all measures, too young, too unskilled and too poorly equipped to face Goliath.
They all could have easily demurred. But they didn't.
Ambitious People Don't Make Excuses
"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want,
and if they can't find them, make them." -George Bernard Shaw
Yes, sometimes, things happen that are completely outside of our imagination or control (like COVID-19). But it is within our ability to turn it into opportunity.
Who can I serve?
Who can I help?
How can I adapt?
How can I pivot?
Is there any way I can use the time away from my business for good? Business planning? Marketing strategy planning? Becoming more active on social media? Checking on all my clients/patients/customers to see how I can help?
There is an endless number of things you can all do.
But no excuses, ok?
Want to win? Start by eliminating excuses from your life.
Until next time...
