"If you're heading to auction to bid, make sure you've done all your due diligence beforehand. Have a conversation in the day or two before the auction with the agent to understand what terms the vendor is going to accept and also what kind of deposit they are after. 10% deposit is standard in Victoria, but sometimes vendors will accept a 5% deposit, so it is worthwhile asking the question. Make sure you've lined up all your ducks before auction day to ensure you have a great chance at being the final bidder!"
