great to be back home. I had an excellent trip to Mumbai, Dubai, and the amazing Oman. The yoga world is alive and well, and a huge thank you to all of my hosts and new friends met along the way.
I am very happy to announce that the paper I co-authored with Dr. Deepak Chopra, Ryan Castle, and Willian Bushell, Yoga and Pain: A Mind-Body Complex System has been published.
Understanding that mind-body practices can result in benefits that are greater than the sum of their parts is central to the concept of well-being. You cannot understand the ocean by examining a drop of water, and researchers cannot understand the full
benefits of mind-body practices without looking at all of the systems they interact with.
This research is the first time mind-body practices have been
demonstrated to be part of an interconnected, holistic biological system. This was done through multiple methods of analyzing over 400 different studies on yogic practices and pain management. This is both the most comprehensive analysis of yoga and pain ever published, and also the first study to show yoga produces systemic changes in the human body.

When I start teaching again
week I will only be teaching the Sunday led class at 9am (April 2nd), and then will resume teaching weekly classes on April 11th, including the morning pranayama classes. Paloma will continue to cover my classes, and then will be staying on in NY to continue teaching. Yay!
Please join us this Sunday after the led class, when Madeline Lee
of SUPERFREE will be doing a pop-up in the temple of her amazing, delicious, and super-healthy vegan, anti-inflammatory snacks. Madeline created this line of foods when trying to heal an inflammatory digestive disorder, and food, along with yoga, was a large part of
her healing journey. She'll be speaking about this on Sunday, and also sharing some of her most popular, prepared foods.
For April, we will have primary + pranayama + intermediate on Sundays, One Hour Ashtanga on Fridays, and One Hour Asana on Wednesdays. Sign up here.
Level one pranayama on Tuesday, and Level 2 pranayama on Thursday. Each class will now be a 40-minute practice. Sign up here.
Hanuman Jayanti Kirtan
Please join us for Hanuman's birthday for kirtan and Hanuman Chalisa's with Nina Rao and Friends on Wednesday, April 5th, at 7:15pm. You can sign up here, or just show up!
Meditation Class with Omika Jikaria
Friend of the temple, Omika Jikaria, will be teaching a four-week mindful meditation course beginning on Tuesday, April 4th. You can find
out more and register here.
That's all for now!
