Most people, when they come for a consultation, their Vitamin D is at 20 or below. Through the last 2 years, it has been proven those with a higher vitamin D did best against any virus. My dad, 87 years old, was hospitalized with the first round of the virus and came home in a short time. When I had them check his D level, his was 77. He beat the odds.
Yet, I also met with a young person who was struggling with the long haul syndrome and their D level was 20.
D is affected by inflammation and just one test is not always indicative of what is truly happening in the body. That is why I highly recommend testing at least quarterly until you have a good idea of the average and also the amount of supplementation is necessary for your level to stay in the right levels.
In a seminar I attended recently for my CEU's a professor was sharing how the best treatment for dementia is exercise, good sleep and Vitamin d.
The brain needs vitamin D.
Hormones need Vitamin D.
You need vitamin D.
When my triplet grandbabies were born, we insisted in the NICU for them to be started on Vitamin D. And the hospital complied. They gave each baby 1,000 IU daily.
And we know hospitals are not the first to agree to nutritional/ supplemental options.
Even though it is very sunny now in Virginia, it is still a good time to test. Knowing how well you are doing in the sun will help you know how many supplements are necessary on cloudy days.
Steps for you:
1. Test your blood levels - Here is a link to Direct Labs to order your own test.
Now - enjoy the sun, play and rest. It is almost harvest time!🌻
