Back by popular demand, last year’s The Elephant in the Room: a Masterclass in Death and Dying has been updated and enhanced for 2023. A Legacy Planner’s Roadmap for Living (By Facing Death): a CAGP day of death education is taking place on Tuesday, April 18th, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. 

This day will present a unique chance for CAGP conference attendees to take a deep dive into their own understanding and comfort with death, mortality and, ultimately, life. 

The day will include:

  • Opening and closing rituals

  • Death education covering terms/definitions, cultural considerations, paperwork, communication, grief, and more

  • Break out activities

  • Personal reflections

  • An outdoor mindfulness practice

  • A traditional death café


Presenters: Janice St-Denis, Director, Development, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University; Liz Finney, Fund Development Director, Bonny Lea Farm / South Shore Community Service Association; Labhras Quigley, Death care social entrepreneur; Dr. Dan Vena, Adjunct Assistant Professor, Queen’s University and community Death Educator.

Gift Planning Fundamentals

Are you new to gift planning and want to learn the basics? Are you an executive director or board member who is interested in starting a gift planning program at your charity but need to learn more before jumping in?
