Happy Independence Day!

What an auspicious time of the year this is.  Not to underestimate the importance of time in general.  It is just that every now and then, some things are so crucial for us to understand that it seems that God decides to give us more obvious signs / warnings than He usually does.

Despite His efforts, it wasn’t until earlier today that I happened to notice.

What the heck are you talking about? (Tim kindly asks.)

On July 3, there is a strong Full Moon taking place in the highly responsible, reliable and stable sign of Capricorn.  Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of ethics and hard work.  Saturn at the moment is in Pisces, in what is called retrograde motion.  Retrograde does not mean that Saturn is moving backwards.  What it means is that Saturn is moving “slower than typically”.  When a planet is moving slower than typically, it allows us to cultivate more of the corresponding characteristics that we wish to embody.  Should you wish to develop more patience for example, Saturn says now is the time to do it.  Having said that, it does not mean that all of a sudden you will become more patient.  This could not be further from the truth.  What it means is, you could encounter more opportunities that would give you the chance to demonstrate your ability to be patient.  (Tim said that reading this has truly tested his patience.  :) )

Back to the planetary alignment:

The Full Moon is in Saturn’s sign which means that we need to pay attention to what Saturn has to say.  Especially since our present state of dynamic balance (represented by Vesta) depends on the lessons we could learn from Saturn.  Why is that?  Vesta and Saturn are in a 90-degree angle which means that something’s got to drastically shift in order for us to maintain and / or improve our ayurvedic dynamic balance.  The “what” in particular depends of course on our individual circumstances.

However, no matter what that is, there are two things that we can be sure about:

1.  It is going to require not only patience but also discipline.  Self-discipline is the essence of Saturn.

2.  It is going to also require some sacrifice on our part.  Why is that? Pluto (representing what we are willing to give up) is in Saturn’s sign in retrograde motion.  In other words, Pluto is giving us a chance to decide on what we are willing to give up in order to develop more self-control.

Why am I harping on this self-discipline thing?

The ancient Greek historian Thucydides who lived in the 5th century BC, said:

Self-discipline is the chief element in self-respect, and self-respect is the chief element in courage.

I will forever be proud to be an American and grateful for our Founding Fathers' courage.

Happy Independence Day! God Bless the U.S.A.!

Until next time...   Much much love from all of us!
Na’maste Kala! (Which in Greek means, may we all be well!)
