I had a wonderful time exploring the area, eating at yummy restaurants recommended by the locals, and curling up before an actual wood burning fire in my cozy rental cottage. It was a ten out of ten good time! (Even with the bum ankle.)
And I had an unexpected bit of good fortune while I was away. One of my brother's friends was moving in with his girlfriend. Her place became available and she very sweetly offered to let me take over the lease. Needless to say I jumped on it!
So I spent the next two days after I'd came back moving into my new place. It's a cute little apartment right near Notting Hill. So I'm going to have a fun couple of months in London while I search for the country cottage my heart desires.
