Tucked away behind an inconspicuous little storefront at Safe Harbor Marina at Regatta Point lies the brainchild of Todd Eaton and Melony Engel; a little ice cream shop named Alice
Scooper’s. Opening up just before the Covid outbreak Todd and Mel made the fateful decision to buckle in and blast off on an adventure that would take them to where they had no idea. And so they created a unique product that would delight the pallets of all who would cross their threshold.
Todd did mention that he and Melony were very apprehensive about starting the little shop as the pandemic hit, but the State of Florida deemed that ice cream was an essential product and the store was an essential business. Well, that’s all it took and in true
entrepreneurial fashion, the duo started cranking out gallons of ice cream a day. All through the pandemic, Alice Scooper’s was open for business and scooping in the profits.
At first, Todd and Mel sold footlong hot dogs along with their ice cream for those who wanted a quick hot lunch, but when Mila’s restaurant opened in the marina they decided to let go of the dogs out of respect for the new eatery and keep their core business, which is
ice cream. And oh what ice cream it is.
Alice Scooper’s might be a little ice cream shop but it supports big flavored ice cream made fresh in the back of the store and vaguely named after popular song titles from the “Rock” era such as “Gold Digger” for peanut butter chocolate, and “Little
Red Corvette” for strawberry or “Start Me Up” for caramel coffee. And it’s not just all ice cream either. They have vegan, keto, and nondairy specialized products also. Not only does Alice Scooper’s provide gourmet frozen treats, but they also have a wheel you can spin to win free products from the store. Whenever you buy something from Alice Scooper’s they give you a card to collect stamps. Once ten stamps are collected, you have a chance to spin the
wheel and win free products from the store.
They make all their frozen treats right on their premises using all-natural ingredients and very little else. It’s a labor of love really. That’s what makes Alice Scooper’s the best stuff on the west coast of Florida. You can’t get store-bought ice
cream like Todd’s and Mel’s anywhere. When you buy Alice Scooper’s you are buying the freshest ice cream possible and not something that’s been sitting on the grocer’s shelf for who knows how long.
As a matter of fact, we like Alice Scooper’s ice cream so much that we give away gift cards on our boat for free. That’s right Riverside Tours has partnered with Alice Scooper’s to give away their frozen treats on our tour boat. We might give it away for the first person to see a dolphin, or as a prize for winning one of our contests on the River Skipper
II. And naturally, we give it away as a birthday gift and we enjoy the expressions on the faces of all the children (and adults) when we give them a free birthday scoop.
