Hi everyone, welcome to 2021 a fresh start for us all in many ways. 2020 brought great challenges but as always January is the time for renewal. We don’t want to try to pretend that we don’t face great challenges in all of our lives currently or for this coming year. What we do believe is that working towards healthy changes that we can actively participate in will only benefit our futures.
Here at Damy we believe that an excellent way to participate in a healthy lifestyle and optimize our bodies for the year is to focus on a plant-based diet. To make the switch to include more plants into your diet there’s no better way than trialling going vegan for a while. That’s why we are launching our new 21 day challenge.
Let’s take this January and eat more plants together. We are asking each of you who is interested to consider going vegan for the next 21 days. What do you think?
To support you on your journey we have our 21 day meal plan which is called the
21 Day Vegan Cleanse. If you would like to follow along with our vegan meal options
visit our site here for further guidance and a meal plan.
If you would like to consider trying this plant-based vegan diet on your own let’s go for it. Let’s make every meal centred around vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and beans. By focussing on these assortment of foods not only are we helping our bodies but we’re helping the planet.
So why go plant-based? Well there is no short answer other than – it’s good for you. Nutrition science is very hard to follow and that’s why we're here for you to review, breakdown and gather all available evidence for healthy weight loss and optimal wellness. Part of that process is the promotion of a plant-based diet, this means eating more plants than not.
So what’s so bad about meat? I heard that grass fed meat was healthy? Well here’s the thing we’re not saying that is you choose to eat meat you can’t still participate in adding more plants to your diet. We are saying that sometimes it’s nice to have a break from the abundance of meat protein we're exposed to in our standard North American diet. Going vegan for three or four weeks is not going to hurt us, we’re not going to have muscle loss, we're not going to be deficient in protein, it's going
to be okay. What is going to happen is we’re going to get a subtle cleanse. Our inflammation is going to be down, our fibre will be up, and our antioxidant status will go through the roof. And… you might find out that you really like the way you feel and you may consider making the switch. This nutrition switch often translates to feeling better, lighter, healthier.
I welcome you to join us along this process. We aren’t taking it to an extreme. What we are doing is adding more plants and less meat. Follow along with the
21 day vegan challenge if that suits you or build a plant-based vegan diet on your own focusing on healthy vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, seeds and legumes.
Welcome to 2021 we wish you the best of health this year and a great start this January.
