Happy Tuesday!
As most of you know I am healing from my knee surgery. I have lost a lot of muscle strength in my legs (whole body has suffered actually) and I am SO excited to work toward my comeback. Working on my patience muscles in the mean time. Doing my best to focus on what I CAN control.
I am all over my nutrition & supplementations to help heal my body faster and remove inflammation each and every day. (This is what I CAN contol - lol).
I wanted to share with you today, a bit about creatine & HMB and why I am taking it.
*FYI - These are not just for bodybuilders – they can benefit everyone (women
& men), especially those of us over 35.
What is Creatine?
Creatine is a naturally occurring substance in our muscles that helps produce energy during high-intensity exercise. Supplementing with creatine can increase the stored amount in your muscles.
Benefits of Creatine:
- Improves Exercise
Performance: Boosts strength and power, making workouts more effective.
- Enhances Muscle Recovery: Reduces muscle cell damage and inflammation post-exercise.
- Supports Brain Health: Has been shown to improve memory and cognitive function.
- Aids in Muscle Growth: Promotes lean muscle mass gains over time.
Myth Debunked: Weight Gain from Creatine
It's common to hear
that creatine causes weight gain. Initially, creatine can cause water retention in your muscles, leading to a slight increase in weight. This is a temporary effect and usually stabilizes after a few weeks. The water retention is actually beneficial as it hydrates your muscles, aiding in better performance and recovery. So, if you try it keep this in mind and track it:-)
What is HMB?
HMB is a
compound produced when the body breaks down leucine, an essential amino acid. It's known for its role in muscle health and performance.
Benefits of HMB:
- Reduces Muscle Loss: Helps maintain muscle mass, especially during calorie-restricted diets.
- Enhances Muscle Growth: Supports muscle protein synthesis, leading to muscle gain.
- Speeds Up Recovery: Decreases muscle damage and soreness after
intense exercise.
- Boosts Strength: Improves strength and endurance, aiding overall performance.
Incorporating Creatine and HMB into your routine can provide significant benefits for your fitness and overall well-being.
Hence the reason I am taking it. It is a part of my comeback plan:-)
I sent out yesterday an email about a
vitamin company that has cost-effective, good supplements & products, and it is where I get my Creatine + HMB, CLICK HERE if you want to check it out.
If you have additional questions reach out to me.
I will be sharing a lot of about my comeback, what's working, what's not and everything in between as I navigate more through it.
I believe I am experiencing all of this, so I can better serve you all. Geez - lol!
Much Love,
