Typically when I fuse a bottle flat, it doesn't go completely flat, it looks more like this:
If I want the bottle to fuse perfectly flat, I simply cut the bottom off before I fuse it. The body of the bottle fuses perfectly flat (I used a slumper on the neck, so it isn't flat)
