Polarized Film For Glass Testing

One of my favorite tools for checking on glass compatibility tests and annealing is a set of polarized film sheets.

These sheets are used to detect internal stress in glass.  They are also quite useful for identifying unmarked tempered glass.  I strongly suggest buying large pieces of polarized film rather than the tiny squares.  It's much easier to look at your whole glass piece at one time.

Our local TV news station recently came to visit the studio and talk about glass art and solar power.

Have an excellent week, and stay cool!
