Beveling Cut Bottles

There are quite a few tutorials about using cut wine bottles to make drinking glasses, vases, planters, etc.  The tricky part is how to bevel the edges both inside and out, particularly if you don't have cold working tools.

There is a low tech way to do it that just takes a little elbow grease!

You'll need a wide bottomed champagne bottle bottom and polishing grit.

Add a small scoop of grit to the champagne bottle bottom, add a little water and then twist the cut edge of the bottle in the slurry to polish.

This method would work with these tutorials:

If you want to give it a try, but not sure what kind to buy, I do stock my favorite kind of grit on my website.
