Glass With a Past
Bottle and Float Glass Fusing Molds, Education

One of my reader questions this week was:

What is the difference between mica and lusters?

Mica is made of ground minerals, and can be suspended in a paint medium of your choice, including water base clear paint.

Lusters are an overglaze product for adding metallic and other color highlights to ceramics (and glass) and are made with chemicals in an organic solvent.

I've also written an article about how to use Lusters on glass, I hope you enjoy it!

News from the Studio

Well, school is back in session, and regularly scheduled life has resumed.

My teaching schedule is filling up rapidly, and I've updated the classes page yet again.  I'm also pleased to be presenting an upcoming online class that you can watch live streaming for FREE.  I would love your feedback on that, if there is interest, I will put together more online/video classes.

Heart molds are on sale for the next two weeks, in time for Valentine's day fusing.

What new skill or new craft would you like to take on in 2017?
