This tutorial would also work for making flat artwork, just skip the slump, and it would look fantastic in a stand! For our third project using the Hummingbird Free Kiln Carving pattern, we’re going to create a painted hummingbird dish using our kiln carving stencil as a pattern. If you haven’t downloaded the pattern yet, you should probably start by doing that.

Each stand is 4″ x 4″ square and .5″ thick. The stainless steel rods are 1/8″ thick and coated with a clear heat shrink plastic to protect your artwork. The taller rods are 1.75″ tall, and the shorter center support rod is 1/2″ tall. This rod supports your artwork one half inch above the stand.
