Fun Workplace Awards to Help You Uncover Your Superheroes

Creating a culture of celebration, recognition, and appreciation is critical if you want to engage employees and foster a more inspiring workplace. And there are so many ways to recognize one another at work in fun ways, so to add to your ever-growing list, here are a few more fun awards to consider doling out in your workplace:

The Houdini Award: For whoever magically makes a big problem disappear.

The Cat Herder Award: For whoever best "herds" meeting participants.

The Trivia Master: To whoever always has the weirdest, most arcane facts at their fingertips.

The GPS Award: To whoever can locate anyone or anything in the office.

The Jackass Whisperer: To whoever can best calm down or reason with a difficult customer. (Maybe don't let your customers know about this one?)

The Silver Medalist: For always finding the silver linings in challenging situations.

The Coach: To whoever is best at cheering people on and drawing the best out of coworkers.

The Batman/Catwoman Award: To whoever is mostly likely to actually be Catwoman or Batman.

The HA HA Award: To whoever keeps everyone laughing during a busy or stressful time.

Do you have a fun award you'd like to share? Drop me a line and I'll add it to the list!

    Mike's Fun at Work Tip

Tomorrow, June 16 is official Recess at Work Day - a day to remind us all of the rejuvenating power of taking a fun break at work. So why not hold an impromptu paper airplane contest or, if you're working remotely, a Zoom trivia contest? For a few more recess at Work suggestions pop over to Recess at Work Ideas.

This handy term is perhaps one more reason to avoid using sarcastic humor at work:

Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.
