Trust the seasons of your life

Hi ,

How are you?

The clocks have gone back in many parts of the world and a few people I've spoken to this week have said they've found it difficult to adjust.

I find it interesting that such a small change, just one hour, can have such a huge impact.

But then again, this is true in every area of our lives.

Making one small change can have a massive positive, or negative effect.

As we move into the seasons known for retreating and reflecting, ask yourself where can you make a small change that will have a positive impact in your life?

Is it waking up 30 minutes earlier to stretch or have a proper breakfast each morning?

Or is it spending less time watching TV and scrolling through social media, in order to invest more time in a business or creative goal?

Could it be swapping your daily full-fat latte for a cup of herbal tea?

Or could it be cooking healthy meals at home rather than opting for takeaways and eating out?

Often the thing that makes the biggest difference is something so simple that we overlook it.

The clocks going back has also had me reflecting on nature and its cyclical changes.

Every year without fail, nature moves through the seasons. The temperature rises and falls. The trees let go of their leaves and eventually they return. Flowers bloom, die then bloom again.

Very rarely do we stress about the changes of the season. We simply trust that spring will follow winter, summer will follow spring, autumn will follow summer and so on.

Yet when it comes to the seasons in our own lives, we often have much less faith.

But, our lives mimic nature.

There are times when things are bright and breezy. When everything seems to be working in our favour and we feel fantastic.

Then there are darker times. When nothing seems to be working out.

Times when we lose relationships, jobs or good fortune.

Particularly when you are going through tougher times, it's worth reflecting on nature and remembering that eventually better days will come.

It's also worth keeping in mind that every season in nature has a purpose, and as difficult as challenging times can be, they also happen for a reason.

Likewise, when you are experiencing abundance in your life, it's important to regularly express gratitude for everything you have, even if you don't have everything you want.

Spend some time this week to reflect and journal about any lessons you can learn from nature and how you can apply them to your life.
