More than likely, you’ve been inundated over the past week or two, as have I, with Black Friday and upcoming Cyber Monday sales emails.
I am NOT selling anything in this email, other than hopefully enrolling you into being present in the moment to conversations that interest you; then capturing on the audio recorder on your phone those thoughts and memories being shared that resonate with you …perhaps at a
Thanksgiving dinner or other gatherings…even during one-on-one conversations.
(At the end of this email, I do have a link for you to receive VIDEO STORY CREATION ON YOUR PHONE. It’s a free PDF
Guide that goes into detail, with images, on how to take an audio recording to create a video. All that is required is a free video creation App downloadable from your App store. This works on both iPhones and Android phones.)
Expressing Gratitude:
Several years ago part of my extended family established the tradition of going around the table at Thanksgiving
dinner and sharing one thing each person was grateful for. The teen-age nephews were a little uncomfortable until we said it could be something as simple as a movie they had seen.
A few suggested prompts:
I am most grateful for…
What I most appreciate about my life is…
Then possibly going around the table, or when seated in another room, addressing each person individually:
What I most appreciate about you is….
I feel happy when I (or) you….
Recording:
I strongly encourage you to use the audio recorder on your phone when someone is sharing something you, or they, might want to remember and/or pass on to other family members and/or friend.
Voice Memos is the Default App on the iPhone. If you’re not familiar with it, do a search on your phone, or you can find it in the APP store.
Android phones also have a default recorder. Another recorder I recommend, that is available on both phones is,
Voice Recorder & Audio Editor by TapMedia.
(See images at the top of this email.)
Always ask for permission before you start audio or video recording. I suggest each recording be no longer than a minute of two.
Taking photos:
At some point during your time together, take one or more photos of the individuals who are sharing. This does not have to be while they are sharing. You also might want to take some “eye-catcher” photos of the food or other things in the environment.
With ONE PHOTO only, you can EASILY turn the audio recording into a video recording. You can also add more than one photo.
The latter is covered in detail in the VIDEO STORY CREATION ON YOUR PHONE PDF.
Back Story:
Why I am so passionate about capturing and recording what might be memorable moments in the future.
Part of the reason I got into teaching easy basic technology to seniors is that when it was suggested to me, I remembered that after my beloved husband Sam died (15 years ago on the eve Thanksgiving), one thing I missed was the sound of his voice.
At that time I had been recording classes I was teaching and had the technology (long before Zoom) to record him. It simply never occurred to me.
(Note: I did ultimately find a very old video cassette that had him speaking. I share how, in the PDF Guide, I created a video from it.)
Several Years Later:
Almost nine years ago, my granddaughter brought her then-boyfriend to my home for us to meet. They started talking about what they liked about each other and Brad, now her husband, said that the two of them could be in an all-white room with nothing in it but the two of them and they would find something to laugh about.
I immediately stopped them and asked if I could record them. They said “yes” to audio, but “no” to the video I took on my phone.
A few years later, when I discovered how we can create a video from an audio simply by
adding one or more photos to it, I did create the video. With their permission, you can see it by tapping/clicking on From Audio to Video - Kaitlyn and Brad - A Love Story
Video Story Creation on Your Phone:
If not already doing it, you, too, can easily create video stories. Simply tap/click on Video Story Creation on Your Phone to receive the PDF with more in-depth, how-to details on how to add a single photo, or several, to create a video that was started with an audio captured on your
phone.
To your experiencing Love and Joy as you share AND experience appreciation, gratitude, and stories.
Happy Thanksgiving, for those celebrating it.
May we all find the things in our lives for which we can celebrate and show love.
Lastly, my gratitude for your being in my life.
I deeply appreciate you.
With love,
Sheila

PSS - Currently I’m inviting subscribers to a 20 to 30 minute research, chat on Zoom to help me develop a pilot project for women 50 to 60 years of age and older, women who might be wondering what's next for them; who are interested in discovering and valuing themselves in new ways,
ultimately, seeing their worlds in exciting, new and expanded ways.
If you’re interested in learning more and helping me with the research, please go to my calendar by tapping/clicking on https://my.timetrade.com/book/RZPDS
Part of my research in creating an effective program is finding out exactly what these women might be wanting, the
language they use, and more. This will NOT be a sales call. No offers will be made.
To the Joy of Discovery and Transformation,
Living and Loving with No Regrets.
Sheila
