Hey Guys,
It's Halloween this week and that usually marks a turn in the weather for us in the northern US. Days with highs of 50s and 60s all of a sudden turn into days of 40s. Things start getting frosty in the mornings or even freezing if we get a few days of sustained cold.
With the weather starting to turn we've included an article/checklist to help get your home ready for the coming winter. It's all the stuff that's easier and better to take care of now than when it gets cold for real. New tool reviews are in the middle and finally the YouTube videos are at the end of the newsletter.
Like I mentioned above, around Halloween is when the weather usually turns colder in my neck of the woods. This article contains a checklist of a bunch of things to check/replace before winter sets in. It's a quick and concise read to get you thinking about the things you need to do in your own house before winter.
Radiant Heat is very popular today especially with new home construction. I’m often asked “Is Radiant Heat More Efficient” compared to forced hot air systems or baseboard hot water systems. The answer in the link below might surprise you. Check it out!
Ever since 2005, Li-ion batteries have been the bell of the ball in cordless power tools. Just about everyone reading this probably owns a power tool with at least one li-ion battery at its heart. Lately the packs have been getting larger and heavier to keep up with user demands. Dewalt is looking to change all that though with their revolutionary new Power Stack battery pack that boasts more power, less weight, and more charge
cycles. So what is this new tech?! Hit the link to see all the details for yourself.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Mid-Torque impact wrenches are in the goldilocks zone for most fasteners. They are not too strong, not too heavy, but just right. Makita was a little late to the party with their impact wrench compared to Dewalt and Milwaukee but the Makita is also the new torque king. Click the link for all the details on this sweet new tool.
In my part of the country if you ask a framer what nail gun brand they use you might hear one or two of them say Hitachi/Metabo HPT but most are going to say Paslode. Paslode has been synonymous with wood framing for decades and their latest XP framer continues that tradition. Full review at the link below.
