Hey Guys,
Tis the season for new tools! A couple of weeks ago, Rob and I went to Milwaukee to see some new introductions to the jobsite cleanup category. Everything in the picture above we got to test and try out from the new cordless wet/dry vacs to all of the universal vacuum attachments. Full preview and videos below.
Last month we teased a photo of the new Ryobi 40V Brushless 2-stage snowblower. Since then we've had plenty of snow and cold and Todd finished up the review. You'll find it below but spoiler alert, it's an awesome machine.
Ironically, the next review in the newsletter is the much anticipated Milwaukee mower. This time of year is a weird transition from winter to spring and it happens differently depending on how far north you live. In MN, our frost is still measured in feet and mowing season probably won't start until late April or May. Down in Florida though, their grass is green already.
Adding casework and built-ins is a great way to dress up a space while adding useful, functional storage. Recently Rob put together a unit of uppers and lowers custom fit to a space but the concepts of how he designed and built them can be used for your own project. Read the How-To at the link below.
Stick-Framed, Pre-Fabricated, Or Modular Construction- Which Is Best?
When building with wood is stick-framed, pre-fabricated, or modular construction better? As a licensed structural engineer, Todd gets asked this question all the time. In this article he lays out the pros and cons of each method to help you decide which is best for your next project.
Battery tech has come a heck of a long way in the last 5 years. Tools/equipment that we thought were going to forever been run on gas have started making the transition to cordless batteries. One company on the forefront of this is RYOBI. This winter they released a 2-stage snowblower that runs on their powerful 40V platform. Todd put it to work up in New Hampshire over the last couple months. See how it did in the link below.
#TBBCrew Stan recently moved to Florida as a project manager to build some high rise apartments. One of the benefits is that there's no snow and can test lawnmowers year round. Recently he reviewed the new Milwaukee 21" lawnmower that will be available this coming mowing season. If you're on the M18 platform, I'm sure you're pretty curious to see how it stacks up in the highly competitive cordless push mower category. Click the link
below to read all of Stan's thoughts and insights on this new mower.
Like I mentioned above, we recently had the privilege of going to Milwaukee to try some of these new vacuums and accessories first hand. You'll have to check out the preview articles below but man, it is refreshing to see someone trying to innovate in this space. Wet/dry vacs have remained relatively unchanged (and pretty frustrating at times) for at least a couple decades. Hit the links to see how Milwaukee is trying fix user
frustrations and make jobsite cleanup easier, better, and more efficient.
