Concord Carpenter Workshop News

Hi Guys,

On June 15 the ACC and TBB team will be heading out to Milwaukee to the 2015 Milwaukee Tool Symposium.

Milwaukee has been working hard these past few years on cordless technology, the term "cutting the cord," is often used to describe their progress.

If you want a good laugh, watch this tool review video I did a few years ago, where I handcuffed myself to a corded Milwaukee drill. and connected it to a ball and chain!

Contractors and consumers alike have cut the cord when it comes to power tools, particularly drills. And let's face it, working with tools is so much easier without a cord.

If a hold-out, you know, the type of person who prefers an old-fashioned rotary telephone, that plugs into the wall a cord to the receiver, and of course no answering machine.  If your home, you answer, if not, they can call you back.

If you're that guy, you're probably still part one of the few living charter members to the "lead pencil club," so don't read on and learn about cordless efficiency, speed and power.

Milwaukee M18 FUEL™ HOLE HAWG

The Milwaukee Hole-Hawg has been an icon in the electrical construction industry for years because it's so powerful, fast and durable.

Now electricians can get that same power, speed, and durability without the cord.

Electricians drill hundreds of holes in wood framed buildings in order to rough-in their wiring. The holes are typically 7/8" to 1" in diameter and often times must be drilled through multiple layers of framing from 1-1/2" to more than 10" in some cases. This type of drilling requires a powerful, fast, and durable drill in order to get the job done quickly day after day.

Recently we had the chance to preview the new Milwaukee M18 Cordless Hole-Hawg and we were blown away.

In head to head testing we were able to drill holes just as fast as the corded Hole-Hawg. Not only did it perform as well as the tried and true but it's lighter and there's no cord to drag around the job site!

Cordless power tools continue to push the limits into larger tools that once were only available in corded versions.

The new Milwaukee  M18 FUEL Hole Hawg 1/2″ Right Angle Drill is a must have tool for electricians.
Milwaukee offers two versions of this drill. We tested the model with QUIK-LOK™ chuck system but they also offer a model with a standard 1/2″ chuck system.

If seeing it in action means believing it then you need to check out this short video with testimonials from real electricians in the field.

These guys can attest to the impressive power and speed of the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL Hole-Hawg.
