A Concord Carpenter - Promoting best practices in the remodeling industry

Concord Carpenter Workshop News

Hi Guys,

I'm writing this a week before Build America, so I'll talk about the event when I return from vacation. I'm going off the grid for a few weeks!

Milwaukee just announced their expansion of their operation in Greenwood Mississippi.   In the last several years Milwaukee has created nearly 900 new jobs across the country, more than 250 of which are in Mississippi.  While manufacturing is still largely out of country - this is an amazing start.  Kudos to Tool Group President Steve Richman.

Milwaukee Releases a 9.0 Ah 18-volt battery

Yes a 9.0 Ah battery - can you say WOW?

We just got back today from a 2 day event at Milwaukee Tool called the New Product Symposium. It’s a yearly event where they invite the tool and construction industry media to town for intense hands-on demos and presentations.

This was the 8th year of the event and it didn’t disappoint. We did see some top secret items that we can’t discuss until later this summer but there are still tons of amazing new tools that we can talk about and can’t wait to get them out on the job site.  READ MORE or check out some of our photos here.

Milwaukee Dedicated To Creating More Jobs In U.S.

Milwaukee Tool has announced an expansion of its operations in Greenwood, Miss. This, along with other investments to Milwaukee Tool facilities in the state, represents a $35 million investment in Milwaukee’s U.S. manufacturing operations over the last 4 years. Milwaukee Tool has locations in Greenwood, Olive Branch and Jackson.

“Milwaukee Tool is dedicated to driving growth and creating new jobs in the United States...,” said Milwaukee Tool Group President Steve Richman. “In the last several years we have created nearly 900 new jobs across the country, more than 250 of which are in Mississippi. We firmly believe that, through investing in our people, we will deliver disruptive innovation and the highest quality products for our users and distribution partners.”

The expansion in Greenwood will create 126 new positions, of which 105 positions have already been filled. This brings the total number employed by the company in Greenwood to 508. Milwaukee Tool employs a total of 891 workers throughout its three Mississippi locations.

“This announcement is great news for the Mississippi Delta as Milwaukee Tool increases its presence in Greenwood and creates new jobs for the region’s workforce. We are committed to partnering with our existing companies like Milwaukee Tool to advance industrial growth throughout the state, and we look forward to working with the company again in the future,” said Miss., Governor Phil Bryant. “I thank Milwaukee Tool for its dedication to Greenwood and Mississippi.”

Milwaukee Tool has been building products in the U.S. since 1924. With three manufacturing locations in the U.S., and the expansion of the fourth facility in Greenwood, Miss., U.S. manufacturing continues to be an important part of the company’s global footprint.
