Spring is quickly approaching and unlike last Winter where some of us were buried up to our necks in snow still in March things are looking good here for an early Spring. This weekend Todd and Rob are headed out to Las Vegas again this time to visit with the folks from Kobalt Tools. We'll be learning about new tools they are going to offer this year so keep a close eye on our Facebook pages for live updates on Saturday.

This month we'll be focusing on Kitchen and Bath. In today's issue we've got a basement bathroom, kitchen remodeling tips, and a great tile saw we reviewed.

Bathrooms are complicated enough but when you build one in a basement the complexity is even higher. As a builder I will tell you the biggest evil we face is water! It's not secret that bathrooms are a wet environment. However, when you put that wet environment into a wet area like a basement the issues can be daunting.

I recently installed a basement bathroom and wanted to share my thoughts on things to consider prior to the construction and during. The biggest issue is proper insulation in order to keep foundation moisture out of the framing and wall finishes. Read the link below and learn how I like to do a basement bathroom.

RIDGID 10" Wet Tile Saw - THE BEAST!

Image
Seeing that it's kitchen and bath month for us we would be remiss if we didn't talk about a tile saw! Most all kitchen and bath projects contain a certain amount of tile work. One of our contributing editors (Mike Hopp) recently started using the RIDGID R4091 10" Wet Tile Saw on his jobs and he's really happy with it!

I'm a huge fan of RIDGID tools and all of us at Tool Box Buzz think the Brand is a hidden jewel for contractors. Read more to learn why Mike thinks this tile saw is "THE BEAST" and how it has been performing for him on the job.
