Fall is in the air here in New England with cool mornings, bright blue skies, and thoughts of getting things done before Winter sets in! This week we've got an assortment of content from a new Brushless Recip Saw from Makita, to a really cool live edge wood shelf, and how prefabricated wall panels save time and money.

This month is going to be very busy with our team splitting up to cover two media events the same week. Todd and Jeff will head south to visit the team from Stihl and all their great outdoor equipment and Rob (aka lucky dog) is headed to Germany to meet the fine folks from Festool! We'll have coverage from both events for all of you tool junkies that love seeing the latest and greatest!

In the meantime be sure to check out our latest video every Friday called Tools On Tap!

Live Edge Wood Shelf

Wood shelving built using gas pipes is VERY popular right now with good reasoning, they are very beautiful and interesting! Not too long ago I built my first gas pipe shelf for a friend and liked it so much that I decided to do another for my own home. This is a project most people with minimal DIY skills can accomplish and the cost can be quite reasonable. Want to learn how to do this project? Click the link below.

Using Prefabricated Wall Panels
Image
I've been using prefabricated wall panels for years because they are fast, excellent quality, and economical. The picture above is a house that my 3 man crew put up in less than two weeks thanks to the use of prefabricated wall panels.

What is a prefabricated wall panel? Basically all the walls are built in a factory just like we'd frame them on the deck, shipped to the site on a truck, and set with a crane. Make no mistake, this isn't a modular home. The walls are made exactly as we would on site. The best part is they fabricated them with the materials we specify, the walls are built under cover, out of the weather, and all the materials are cut using computer controlled saws ensuring the highest level of precision.

Read the entire article to learn more about this and why it's a great option for any new home.
