Hi Guys,

Happy Memorial Day weekend. We hope you spend some time remembering the heroes that have given the ultimate sacrifice for our Freedom and wonderful Country. We are truly blessed to live in a free and open Country that allows all of us to chase our dreams.

Memorial Day weekend is also a time to get a few projects done around the house while enjoying friends and family. This week we're sharing some products and projects that might be on our honey do list.

In the coming weeks we'll also be publishing the results from our latest head to head tool test. Last weekend we got the TBB crew together and tested 10 full size impact drivers. We tested them using 3" deck screws, 3/8" lag bolts, 5" TimberLok's and some static torque tests. We think these tests and the results will surely help you make a great choice when buying your next impact driver.

We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend. In just a couple weeks we'll be traveling out to Milwaukee to visit our friends at Milwaukee Tool for their 2017 Media Event. Those of you that love tools want to stay tuned as we'll have live updates from the event on Wed June 7th.

Have a GREAT weekend!!

~ TODD

Installing a Cupola
Image
Here in New England cupolas have a long history of use on older homes. In recent years we've been installing more of them on new homes to add just a taste of the past and some added aesthetic appeal.

The great thing is installing a cupola isn't that difficult even for an existing home. The biggest challenge is safe access to the roof area. In most cases, cupolas can be purchased pre-assembled in a wide range of styles and sizes. For added style, a weather vane or spire can be added like the one shown above.

if you're looking for a great way to added some architectural flair to your home then read on to learn more about cupolas.

Lately it seems that I’ve mostly been talking to you guys about cordless tools. Well, not today. As an “East Coast” contractor I’m accustomed to working with a right-bladed side-winder saws, but SKILSAW SOUTHPAW provides visibility that’s hard to deny, with the durability of a worm drive.

While I am mostly cordless on my job-sites, I ALWAYS have a corded circular saw in the trailer.

The SOUTHPAW is a lightweight, durable, and powerful cutting saw with unparalleled cut visibility. I liked using it, there’s not a lot of bells and whistles here, it’s a workhorse saw that will give you reliable service.

Installing A Dog Door

An air switch is a button that is mounted through the counter top that sends a puff of air down a tube when pressed. This puff of air triggers an AC power relay at the other end of the hose allowing 110V power to pass through the relay and essentially turning on what ever is plugged into it.

This is usually a garbage disposal but could be used to turn on toe-kick lights or something else under the sink / counter-top.

If you’re worried about flipping an electric switch with wet hands, DON'T,  an air switch is a good alternative. Today we’ll show you just how easy it is to install an air switch.
