We Don't Like the Word "FALL" on the Job Site

Hi Guys,

First I want to thank Jeff for last weeks posting of my first three videos, WOW, not only was I terrible, by time sure does fly by. All I'm gonna say is payback is a bitch Jeff!  ;)

All joking aside, next Friday is September 1st and while its not the official start of Fall, it kinda is to me. Right now were working on our next Head-2-Head tool test and hope to have it ready in October. These tests take time to do and we're pretty sure you'll like this one.

Here's a preview of things to expect from us this Fall:  FALL PREVIEW

This week we've published at least 12 new articles on Concord Carpenter and Tool Box Buzz. In fact two of our resident carpenters Joe Canning and Jeff Williams independently reviewed the same Diamondback Denali Tool Belt Rig. You need to read both of these reviews, these rigs are durable and comfortable.

Check them out here:

Mike's Diamondback Rig Review

I'd love to know your thoughts on these reviews. The crew at TBB feels that Diamondback may be onto something, that will take off with pros.

MASCOT work Pants
Image

As a carpenter and general contractor, I typically wear knee pads when I’m tiling or working on a floor. On most projects, I don’t wear knee pads. I find knee pads uncomfortable and the straps tend to cut off my circulation.

Most of the work I do requires a constant combination of standing, kneeling and squatting. The problem is, even in the short time that I am kneeling, Im still doing damage to my knees.

I recently went on a search for durable work pants. I searched for pants that had padded knees and reinforcement in high abrasion areas. I wanted a pair of work pants that essentially would handle the work I do. That search led me to wear and test three brands of work pants. Two of them are compared in this review: Protecting Your Knees On the Job Site – work Pants With Built-In Knee Pads

The third pair, a FAV, can be see in the link below:

MAKITA ImpactX Makes Its Mark!

Image

The folks at Makita recently released their ImpactX fastening accessory line. this new line up of impact accessories was designed to endure the force of high-volume screw driving applications with high torque impact drivers, they include:

  • Insert bits
  • Power bits
  • Magnetic bit holders
  • Magnetic nut holders
  • Socket adapters

I think the most impressive thing I notices with these bits is their precision machined tips with superior fitment. If you've been in the trades you know that the better your accessory fits your fastener, the longer life it will have.

I speak from experience when I tell you that once you get past the cheap price and buying accessories by the pound, and invest in solid, well-machined, precision bits - you'll never go back.

10 Ways To SAVE Your Septic System

If you have a septic system in your home, you need to be very careful about what household products you use. Septic systems rely on bacteria to break down wastes and solids, but these bacteria need a specific environment to survive.

If you put the wrong kind of detergent in your washing machine or you use the wrong drain cleaner, you can end up killing the bacteria, rendering your septic system ineffective.
