What's New?

Hey Guys,

Here in the North East it's easy to know it's Fall (even though it's been unseasonably warm) based on the frantic construction going on in this area trying to beat Winter. Everywhere you drive right now there's construction activity which is a great sign after years of slower work due to the economy.

Needless to say it's been a really busy Fall for our entire team. This week we've got the published results from our recent Cordless Reciprocating Saw Head-To-Head. If you're in the market for a new cordless recip saw, don't miss this article and video!

Enjoy the weekend and be sure to check out our video channel for lots of new videos.

Cordless Recip Saw Head-To-Head

We recently tested ten cordless recip saws in our latest head-to-head tool comparison. We developed several tests to evaluate speed, performance and ergonomics in order to rank these and determine an overall winner.

The test included cordless saws that fall in the 18V-22V range utilizing one single battery pack. While some may question why we limited voltage, we felt it was the best way to keep the playing field even. We're considering doing another version of this test with two of the higher voltage options available on the market, so stay tuned for that.

The biggest take away from this test was feeling confident many of these cordless tools are able to produce corded results in a cordless platform. The power and speed of these newer generation saws is impressive to say the least.

Festool Planex Sander

Sanding drywall isn't fun for anyone. We still see guys on the job sanding by hand in a massive cloud of dust and can't help but feel bad for them. Thankfully, the industry is changing with great dust control systems and integrated tools. We recently spent some time using the Festool Planex Easy Long Reach Sander and loved the ability to sand drywall without massive plume of dust.

If you're still sanding drywall by hand you've got to invest in a system that eliminates the bulk of the dust and improves your productivity. Check this out!

Bosch 12V Max FlexiClick Drill/Driver

This week Bosch introduced a really cool new 12V drill/driver that looks extremely useful! We've never been huge fans of "multi-head" tools, but this looks so much better and useful from our perspective.

This tool offers several optional heads including a quick connect hex driver, drill chuck, right angle chuck and offset angle attachment. We think this new tool is sure to make a big splash! Stay tuned for more info, in the mean time click the link below for more details.
