Hey Guys,
Today we're going to share some fun Wood Working Projects that you might consider to take on while the weather is less than perfect. We also want to share the results of our latest Head-To-Head Cordless Reciprocating (High Capacity) Saw Showdown. Many of you asked us to do another version of the recip testing including
the higher voltage models from Makita and DEWALT so that's just what we did. We pitted the M18 Milwaukee that one our first H2H against these two beasts and it made one heck of a test. Who won? Check it out below!

High Capacity Cordless Recip Saw Head-To-Head
We just finished running all the numbers on our latest Head-To-Head tool test which evaluated the top three most powerful cordless reciprocating saws on the market. We pitted the Milwaukee M18 FUEL against the DEWALT FlexVolt and the Makita X2 18V in a battle of the giants!
So who won? Was the 18V Milwaukee able to compete against the 36V Makita or the 60V DEWALT? I'm not going to spill
the beans here, you're just going to have to click the link below and read the article. It's packed with all the results and explanation of the tests. It's definitely worth a read, and we're confident these saws no longer need a cord!
Sometimes the best wood working projects are ones where we build jigs that allow us to be more efficient and precise in the shop. Box joints are a very strong and easy to make joint when you use a simple jig. In this article I show you how to make your own jig and use it for any size and configuration of box joints. Even if you don't have a project right now, this is a great project to brush up your skills
on.
Looking to clear up some clutter in your wood shop this winter? How about making some simple pipe clamp racks? This is a fun wood working project and it's easy to do. You can even get your kids involved and teach them some basic skills!
I love spending time in the wood shop during the winter. Some of my more enjoyable projects include building small pieces of furniture and wood cutting boards. I love a good geometry challenge and so building "3D" wood cutting boards are just up my alley!
One of my favorite cutting boards to build is a "basket weave" cutting board that creates an illusion of a traditional wooden
woven basket. If you're interested in trying one of these I've written a detailed article on how I made this one. Check it out!
