Hey Guys,
Another big weekend coming up for the Tool Box Buzz crew. We're continuing the table saw head to head testing this weekend. This time though we're going Facebook live on Saturday morning. You don't want to miss this! Tune in Saturday morning at 10 AM eastern.
This winter feels like a broken record, in the upper midwest it is still cold and snowy. I've shoveled twice since the last newsletter and there's another snow event coming this weekend. We're moving on from the
spring theme and are featuring workshop projects.
We know a lot of you have unconditioned workshops. Whether that be unheated or uncooled (for our southern readers). Spring and fall can be the best times for you to get out there and crank out some projects.
The workbench is the cornerstone of any workshop. It gives you a sturdy work surface as well as a place to store tools and parts. In this article we give you tips and tricks on how to build your own bench and then a how-to on the rustic bench pictured above.
Garages now days are multi-use spaces. They are open to the environment at times and other times they are treated more like interior spaces. If you guys are anything like us, we have our shops set up in these areas adjacent to our homes or in my case below my home. While garages and unfinished basements only require ground fault circuit interrupt (GFCI), it isn't a bad idea to install a combination arc fault/ground
fault. After all, arcing is one of the common sources of house fires.
In this article we'll show you how to add a CAFCI breaker to an existing circuit.
In this article we will show you how to build a thin rip jig. I use this jig all the time to safely rip thin strips of wood for woodworking projects of all kinds. It is much safer than moving your fence over right next to the blade. It can be made with a few pieces of scrap, some hardware, and an hour of free time.
The Milwaukee Torch™ reciprocating blade was designed to cut metal faster than regular bi-metal blades in thick metal and cast iron. Designed to cut metal FAST, this blade is not a replacement for a band saw but an additional tool in your arsenal of job site cutting solutions.
Keen Utility is hitting the road again this year traveling coast to coast with a tricked-out trailer full of work boots. The idea is to bring the boots to a local retailer near you so you can try them for yourself. There are 87 stops this year in the US and Canada and while all the dates haven't been published yet, they're starting on the west coast and traveling east. I know that they'll be in MN for X-Games around the middle of July so if you're east of here, they'll be later in the year but if you're west of here, they'll be in your area sooner. Check the calendar link in the linked article for more dates.
