Hey Guys,
Last week was the Milwaukee Tool media event dubbed NPS or New Product Symposium. It's one day of just a crazy amount of new tools coming out over the next year. If you didn't catch all of the action on our social channels, the first article below has all of the highlights as we went through
them.
While new tools are the eye candy, the new high output batteries are the real stars of the show. Milwaukee is sticking with their loyal customers and continuing to develop for the M18 platform. In order to keep up with high demand tools, they needed to get more juice out of the platform. They are now using a higher capacity 21700 cell vs the old 18650 that is the most common on the market today. These cells are a little wider (3mm) and a little longer (5mm) but
have much greater capacity. The beauty of this is that any battery (new or old) can run any Milwaukee M18 tool (new or old).
We'll be publishing a few preview articles on the new tools in the next couple weeks as well as doing a deeper dive when they are released.
As we mentioned above, here are all the highlights from this year's Milwaukee Tool New Product Symposium. Of course there are the new batteries but then there are the tools they power. Some notables are the 8-1/4" table saw, 16" chainsaw, 9" grinder, Super Sawzall, and 7-1/4" circular saw. Preview and review articles are coming for many of the tools but click the link below for some early information. There's also
a YouTube video near the end of this email with more highlights.
We all know that heat rises and that can be a major source of energy loss in the winter. The warm air leaks up into the attic and the cold air falls into the house. This can lead to ice dams and higher energy bills. If your bills this last winter were a little on the high side, now is the time to get up into your attic to seal off the air leaks. Cool mornings this time of year are perfect for hopping up there with
a can of spray foam and ridgid insulation. Click the link below for all the areas to seal up so you don't have sticker shock again when next winter's energy bill arrives.
There was a time in the history of the miter saw when it was a race to see who could make the biggest, baddest corded miter saw on the planet. For many years the Dewalt 12" sliding compound miter saw was a staple on job sites everywhere. Recently there's been a sea change though. Miter saws have been going cordless and I've been seeing less and less 12" monsters being hauled out of tool trailers. Maybe guys are
getting tired of lugging those boat anchors around or maybe it's the lure of cordless. Either way, smaller saws are now the bell of the ball. I can speak from experience, my Ridgid 7-1/4" sliding compound miter saw sees way more action than my 12" does now days. Read on to see why we like it so much and if it has a place in your tool arsenal.
Just about every contractor or tradesman I know carries a screwdriver. And there are hundreds of different brands/models to choose from. Here's a general purpose driver from a company you've probably never heard of but works so smoothly, it's definitely worth a look. Read on for the review.
