Hey Guys,
Starting on Friday, the Build America Training for 20+ college students and the #TBBCrew kicks off. It's
2 days of intense training in tools and construction. A fair number of the students have never had any training in these areas so we do our best to teach fundamentals and safety. From there they travel the country for 6 weeks building accessible recreational structures for kids with disabilities.
This is the 4th year that the ACC and TBB crews have helped train a batch of young men. These men fundraise their own trip and end up logging a combined total of 4,000 man
hours improving the camps. While we can't go with them to help them build, we equip them with the skills they need to carry out their mission. If you want to see what the training is all about, tune into our Facebook live stream on Friday morning starting at 7 AM
EDT.
Like we said above, the training starts Friday morning. You're welcome to watch all the action on Facebook but if you would rather check out a quick summary of all that we try to teach them in two short days, check out the article below from last year's training.

When Laser Distance Measures (LDM) first came out, They were so convenient to do quick take offs. I'd carry a clipboard with a little graph paper and the LDM. I'd start by drawing a quick outline of the area I was measuring and then walk around the area, shooting the distances and jotting them down on the sketch. Fast forward 10 years and now the LDMs are communicating with apps on our phones to do the drawings
and calculations for us. Friends, we are living in the future. Check out the new Bosch GLM 50 C and the MeasureOn app at the link below.
