Hey Guys,
A lot of stuff happened at Tool Box Buzz in the last week and it all centered around table saws. First, our portable job site table saw head to head article is published, as promised. I know many of you have patiently been awaiting the results. Thank you for your patience.
Second, we've been
testing the new Milwaukee M18 Cordless Table Saw on both Todd and Rob's job sites the last few weeks. That review is included below as well.
Finally, Milwaukee is letting us give a third saw away to one of our readers. Be sure to hop on it as soon as you read this because the giveaway ends Friday evening. The picture above is linked to the giveaway page

Reinforcing A Floor Joist
As a remodeling contractor and carpenter one common structural framing issue I see alot of in bathroom remodeling jobs are floor joists that were cut, drilled, notched or need to be cut out to accommodate plumbing pipes and drains. The time to address these structural issues, like reinforcing floor joists, is at the time it was built or during a retrofit or remodel. In this article we'll show you
exactly how to fix and reinforce a joist that was cut/drilled or just needs to be moved.
Whether you call it a saddle or a cricket, its function is the same. A cricket is a built up section of framing, covered in roofing materials, used to divert water in the desired direction. One of the most common places they are found is on the uphill side of a chimney. A cricket diverts water around the chimney and down the roof. Without it, the water runs into the side of the chimney and can leak down into
the structure. Follow the link below to see how we built one and mitigated further water damage.
As promised last week, the portable job site table saw head to head is done. It was a knock down, drag out battle between these saws. You won't find a bad saw in the bunch. We're not handing out participation trophies today though, there can only be one winner. So what saw reigns supreme? Read on at the link below!
Back at NPS18 in May we got our first look at Milwaukee's new cordless table saw. Well, we've had a couple saws on job sites for a few weeks now and we can finally tell you all about it. There are now 2 cordless saws on the market, and we just had to test them side by side. Read all about Milwaukee's new saw and how well it stacked up against the competition at the link below.
So now that you've read all about the new saw, how would you like to win one? These haven't even been released to our media contemporaries yet but Milwaukee is letting us give away one of these beauties. All you have to do is follow the link below, read the rules, and fill out the embedded google form. There's a bonus entry for subscribers of the newsletter but if you're reading this, you don't need to sign up
