Hey Guys,
This week Rob and his crew have been working in the sweltering heat redoing a rooftop deck. Rather than let the sun beat down on them all day, Rob came up with a quick solution to tarp the work area to give the guys some shade. It will still be awhile before summer starts releasing its grip so throwing up some
temporary shade could help you work smarter.
In this week's newsletter we have the followup article in the Fire Bowl series. This one includes the install. We also have an article about solar power that's worth a read. Our last content article shows you how to check your table saw accuracy. Then at the bottom are some tool reviews and YouTube videos.
Last week we had included an article on choosing a fire bowl and the outdoor living space it can create. This week we have a review on the bowl itself as well as the steps we went through to install it.
Maybe my memory isn't as good as it was but this summer feels exceptionally hot. Maybe it's because there's a heat wave in New England right now. Either way, my AC has been running most of the summer. That used to mean high electric bills but with solar power sometimes the bills are $0. Check out this article on our solar system and see if solar makes sense for you.
A table saw is a staple in many workshops and job sites the world over. It is considered one of the most precise cutting tools available in construction. How do you know if your saw is "still on the money"? We'll show you how we test for accuracy on saws that come through our doors.
We've said this about the mid-torque range of impact wrenches before and we'll say it again, they are the goldilocks version of a torque wrench. Just the right amount of power for most applications and not too much weight. They also boast a smaller form factor than their high torque cousins. Milwaukee has a fantastic one on the market and Dewalt does too. The link below is all the details on the Dewalt
Mid-Torque Impact Wrench.
We've picked the winner for the July Tradesman Of The Month. We went a slightly different route this month and picked a hard working apprentice instead of a seasoned pro. This month's winner is Eddie Hillmann. Eddie is an electrician’s apprentice and a student at Western Dakota Tech Institute for electrical trades. He is a 6 year veteran with the United States Air
Force. Click the link to see more of Eddie's work and to see how to enter your own work.
