Hey Guys,
It's going to be a busy couple weeks here for the TBB crew. On Thursday I'll be at the Lenox event in eastern Massachusetts and then over to Boston to meet up with the rest of the crew. Then the following week Todd heads down to Texas for the Hilti event. We'll be sure to fill the social feeds with lots of tools
and accessories from the events.
See that picture above? That's the house of our friend Marc Lyman. He's the editor of a contemporary site called Home Fixated. He redid his entire outdoor landscaping with a large scoop of determination and a little drizzle of grit. Why should you care? His yard is one of three that the Family Handyman is featuring in their Yard Wars contest this year. The funny part of this contest is that it isn't the 3 bloggers who are the contestants, it's the voters. If you vote, you're entered to win a Husqvarna Automower including installation (~$3,750 value). I'm not one to tell you who to vote for but if someone asked me, his yard showed the largest transformation. Click on the picture if you would like a chance to win that sweet
mower.
In this week's newsletter we have some more fall home and garden articles, a short head to head on green cross-line lasers, and some other tool reviews. As always, the YouTube videos bring up the rear. Thanks for reading.
While almost everyone knows how beneficial bats are to controlling mosquitos and other insects, they are still an unwanted visitor in our homes. So how do you go about getting them out and how do you prevent them from entering in the future? Read on for all the details.
Last week we had an article on Fall Lawn Care and it mentioned aeration. But what does aeration do for your lawn and when should you do it? How do you know if your lawn can benefit from it? We
answer these and other questions at the link below.
There are a lot of choices when it comes to cross-line lasers. For years, red lasers were the only type to be found. They worked well but were hard to see in bright light conditions. Green lasers are now prevalent in the market with most of the major manufacturers offering them. But which one should you get? We compare three of them to help you decide on your next laser purchase.
The quietness of the unit is really impressive. At just 59 dB, you can have normal conversation with it running. It's perfect for occupied and confined spaces. The lack of noise isn't the only impressive thing about it though. Read on for our full review!
This last month's Tradesman Of The Month was an iron worker by the name of David Lewallen out of Toledo, Ohio. He sent us in a picture of cutting up a 50 ton lid on a digester at a local water treatment plant. Check out the link to get all the details on how to enter. Perhaps you could be this month's big winner. To see more shots of
David's job site, click the link and scroll down to August.
