Hey Guys,
Rob just got back from Hitachi now MetaboHPT media event. This year's event was a continuation of last year's event with more additions to the MultiVolt lineup as well as an option to use the tools cordless or corded with no difference in performance. When the tools hit the shelves, you'll have the option to buy
the tool with either a battery and charger or a corded adapter. Clicking on the picture above takes you to the article from last year's event. We'll share more on the cordless/corded MultiVolt universe as we get more
information.
We have some great articles for you this week. The first two are simple construction tip articles that many of you may know but some may not. Then we have a HowTo article on etching and coating a concrete floor with epoxy paint. Finally we have a showdown between Team Red and Team Yellow. Both companies have just released new cordless, brushless D-handle jigsaws and Rob has tested and reviewed both saws. You'll have to read the reviews to see which jigsaw
works best for you.
Installing scrap blocks between framing members can ease headaches when it comes to installing cabinets. When blocking is installed, studs no longer need to be located when mounting the cabinets. In this article we detail standard heights for blocking as well as other things in a home that may require blocking.
In commercial structures and multi-family buildings, metal studs are quite prevalent. When it comes to dressing up these spaces in trim like crown molding, the regular method of just nailing it off at the studs won't work. You have to get a little creative and add a wood backer. We'll show you exactly how to do it in the article below.
Like a lot of folk, I spent quite a bit of time in my basement workshop. A workshop floor takes a huge beating and nothing looks better in a workshop or nice garage as a clean, shiny and professional quality finished floor. If you've ever wanted a beautiful epoxy coated concrete floor, click the link below and I'll show you how.
Milwaukee just released a brand new D-handled jig saw. We first saw this beauty at NPS18. It has many, many notable improvements over the previous generation. Rob puts the saw through its paces on the job and in the shop. Check out his full review at the link below.
Not to be outdone by Team Red (Milwaukee), Dewalt has also just released a new brushless cordless jigsaw. Like the red jigsaw in the article above, Rob also put the spurs to this unit in both the shop and on the job site. Read on for the full review and then decide if Red or Yellow makes the jigsaw best suited for you!
