Hey Guys,
It's the day before Thanksgiving in the US. While that means reflecting on and celebrating the things we're thankful for, let's be honest... it's also a time for some screaming deals on tools. I'm not sure how long the day after Thanksgiving/Black Friday has been a thing but I've bought many a tool on discount. The image above is from the ACME Tools flyer and it's the saw that won our Best Portable Job Site Table Saw head to head from this last summer. That's a good saw for a great price and free shipping.
The tool articles below we included for two reasons. 1.) They are tools we love and use all the time and 2.) They are significantly discounted this holiday season. We included both the link to the article as well as a link to the sale price. The sale price links are affiliate links. That means that if you buy a tool using our link, we get a small commission (it isn't much) that helps us to keep producing free content.
Setting trusses can be a slightly intimidating and somewhat dangerous task. It involves flying in large wood assemblies using a crane, telehandler, or other piece of equipment. The layout of the trusses is essential but they don't gain a whole lot of strength until the sheathing is nailed off. In this article we share our tips and tricks so that you can feel confident when the trusses start flying' in
hot.
When remodeling, especially bathrooms, a lot of debris is created. Many contractors carry out their debris in 5 gallon pails but there's a better way. Instead of carrying all that dirt and debris through the house, next time build a chute from the room being renovated, down to the dumpster or trashcan.
For medium and small woodshops, having portable tools is key to making the most out of the limited space while still being able to produce high quality projects. Probably the best planer to fit these criteria is the Dewalt DW735X. It has been in my workshop for the better part of a decade and it still happily smooths as it chews through the wood.
If you've been thinking about adding a planer to your shop or upgrading from the one you have currently. Take a look at our review of the Dewalt. If you like it, it's on sale at the link below for $499 starting on Thursday and going through Sunday. That's the lowest I've ever seen it.
The Milwaukee Packout tool storage system has been out for roughly a year and a half. During that time it is almost always sold out in store at Home Depot. The reason? It's so incredibly durable and modular that it's flying off the shelves. A few of us at Tool Box Buzz have bought into the Packout system and love it. It's great for the job site environment. It minimizes trips to and from the
truck/van/trailer.
While there are some noticeable gaps in the lineup (drawers, radio), the system has been expanding at a rapid rate. One of the drawbacks to this system though is that it can be expensive vs competitive units (Ridgid and Dewalt). The 3 pc stack is on sale now though for a very reasonable $197.
In Construction, a lot of vehicles and small equipment uses air-filled tires. Having an inflator is so useful and handy that it's a no brainer for just about any tradesman/woman. Other manufacturers make cordless inflators but what makes the Dewalt unique is that it can run off their 20V battery platform, a DC charge port, or an AC power source. That's not the only cool feature though. it has an auto
shutoff feature and high/low pressure capabilities.
Be sure to check out the review at the first link below and if you're thinking about buying it, It goes on sale on 11/22-26 for 30% off giving it a bare tool cost of $69.99, that's a heck of a good deal.
