Hey Guys,
That picture above probably has you chomping at the bit for the results of the most recent head to head article. Before we get to that though, just wanted to let you know we have some great articles this week. There's one on heating oil vs propane. If you're in natural gas country, this probably won't interest you but we also have Concord Carpenter's 2018 Holiday Gift Guide. And as always, there are the new tool reviews and YouTube videos at the bottom.
And now the news you've all been waiting for... The results are in! The Picture above is of Stan and Rob hooking up yet another drill in the Best 1/2" Hammer Drill Head To Head test. The article is linked at the image above as well as the first tool article below. We put a lot of hours into this one. We think you'll enjoy it and you may be surprised by some of the results.
Here's an oldie but a goodie on using propane vs oil when it comes to heating a home. The pricing isn't the same anymore but the basic comparison still rings true. This article talks about why you may want to choose one fuel type over the other. It's an interesting discussion and one that probably won't burn out (haha) anytime soon. So which fuel is right for you? Click the link below!
If you need to buy a gift for someone that uses tools in any capacity, be sure to check out this year's gift guide. It's bigger than any one we've put out in the past and you're sure to find something useful to give to your friends and family or even yourself.
We took 12 of the industry's best hammer drills and pitted them in a test of common construction applications. For some of the tests we took the human element out of it and build test jigs. And then for other tests, the human perspective was important. We put a ton of work into this one and hope this helps inform your next tool purchase. Check out the article at the link below and if you have any
comments or questions, be sure to leave them at the bottom of the post.
If you've been a follower of ours for any length of time, you know that Rob, Todd, and myself (Jeff) are all fond of our Keen Utility work boots. Despite our different builds and work environments, we've always found Keen Utility to have a boot suited for us. This time #TBBCrew Stan decided to give a pair of Keens a go to see if the hype he was hearing from the rest of us met his needs. Check out the link
below to read both about Stan's experience with the Keen Utility Detroit XT as well as a new online tool to help you find a boot perfect for your needs.
Klein Tools has been turning out professional tools for tradesmen and women since 1857 and one of these is the large cable strippers pictured above. Probably just about everyone reading this knows what wire strippers look like but what about a stripper for large service cable? A lot of guys just use a utility knife or a linesman skinning knife but theres a better way. Check out the link below see just
how easy this tool makes taking off the insulation of big wire.
