Hey Guys,
A lot has happened since the last newsletter, holidays are long gone and we are smack dab in the middle of winter. For a lot of guys, work may slow down a little bit this time of year and you start lining up jobs for the spring. Around the TBBCrew shop though, we've been going like gangbusters turning out tons of reviews and videos.
Some of this edition's content includes a HowTo on one of those DIY spray foam kits you see in the big box stores, a basement makeover using an innovative plank system, and two... that's right, two new head to heads. Like I said, it's been a busy month around the job sites and shop.
Have you seen the spray foam kits at the big box store before? I can't tell you the number of times I've contemplated them but passed because I thought it would be too hard. Well if you're anything like me, fear not because Rob breaks down the whole process and its benefits at the article below. Hit the link to read the whole article, you don't want to miss this one.
As a carpenter, I'll freely admit I'm not the best taper in the world. And being honest, sometimes I just like a little more texture in rooms with character. That's why we went with this beadboard plank wall system from Armstrong Ceiling for this basement/man cave makeover project. It went up in a day and really complimented the space nicely. Hit the link below to see how easy it really was.
I've been running 5" RO sanders for a number of years but when sanding large pieces, a 5" just takes too long. I had been contemplating purchasing a Festool Rotex just for the direct drive mode when I heard about the Bosch. The Bosch offered similar functionality but at less than half the price of the 6" Rotex. That was enough for me to give it a go. So how did it do? Click the link below and see for yourself.

A router was one of those tools I thought may never go cordless. I'm happy to say I was wrong and now we have 5 different manufacturers making one. Of course we had to pit them against each other to see who is the king of the category. Check the link for all the action!
