Hey Guys,
What a difference a month makes. Last month's newsletter we had just returned from World of Concrete where it was packed with people, vendors, and tools/equipment. Now, most of us are holed up at home riding out this pandemic. I'm writing this from my house in Minnesota where we're about to hit a stay at home order where construction was deemed non-essential. I know some of you may still be working, it just depends on where you live.
Since most of us are spending more time than ever at home, this month's newsletter focuses on simple projects you can tackle during this unprecedented time. Maybe some of these projects have been on your honey-do list for a bit. If there's another project though that you're not sure how to tackle, be sure to use the search box on our main web sites (linked in the next paragraph or the Ecard above).
In the US there are somewhere around 15,000 fires a year caused by plugged up dryer vents. While you're stuck at home the next month or so is a great time to clean yours out so you don't end up as part of that statistic. In this article we show you just how simple it is to do.
White trim is becoming quite the trend the last few years. If you or your spouse has spent any amount of time on Pinterest the last few years, it's riddled with images of white trim and gray walls. So what if your house has stained and varnished trim?
If you're looking to freshen up your space, Rob has a super detailed article at the link below that's sure to help you out.
Rounding out the trifecta of How To articles in this newsletter is the venerable backsplash. This is about the easiest project to do in the kitchen with the most impact to the overall look.
In this article, Todd shows you all the steps to tackle this project yourself, check it out at the link below.
With all this virus junk right now, you can't go a day without hearing about dust masks, face shields, and respirators. This has us all thinking about our own PPE on the job site. Recently we took a look at a number of safety glasses that can be found on the shelf at the box store and put them through a number of tests to see how good they really are.
So how did they do? Check out all the results at the link below.
We've all used reciprocating saws on the job sites for years but in about the last half decade or so, the one-handed recip has really come into its own. Back in January we tested 6 of these in a head to head with one of the contenders being the
Dewalt. We won't spoil the results but if you're on the Dewalt 20V platform, check out the review below and see if this little unit would be a good addition to your tool arsenal.
