Hey Guys,
It's only a few more days until memorial day and it's starting to feel more like summer every day. The sounds of birds and lawn mowers fill the air. Outdoor projects are spinning up and the TBBCrew is starting another head to head.
A couple of how-to articles anchor this months newsletter. One is about how to properly clean paint brushes and the other is about hanging string lights. Then we have the tool articles and reviews with the star being some of the new 18 volt tools from Ridgid. Finally at the bottom of the lineup we have the videos including a full shop tour of Rob's shop.
Painting is one of those projects that just about all of us have done. It seems simple enough that many of us tackle it without any formal training. The finished product is what we focus on but what about maintaining the tools so that they're ready to go for the next project? In this article, Phil goes through everything you need to know to clean your brushes like a pro so that next time, they're good to go!
During the pandemic, many of us are spending our free time inside and outside of our homes. One way of adding to the ambiance of your outdoor space is by adding some soft lighting. Rob wanted to do this at his house a couple years ago but didn't have a good anchor point. See how he solved it with the How-To article linked below.
We've always said that Ridgid Power Tools are the hidden gem of the tool industry and over the next few months they're releasing some additional gems to the 18V line. Believe me, there are some real beauties coming soon. Check out the preview at the link below.
One of the highlights of NPS19 was the updates to the cordless finish nailer lineup. Milwaukee didn't quite get them right the first time around but this Gen2 line is worth talking about. Rob took the 18ga narrow crown stapler to job site and the shop and put it to
work. Read all of his thoughts at the link below.
While we often talk about how battery tech has changed the construction industry, the segment that has seen the greatest gains is the outdoor power equipment segment. Every year more and more gas equipment is going cordless. Ryobi is one of the brands at the cutting-edge of this movement. We take their newest mower for a few mows around Boston. So how did it do? Hit the link and see for yourself.
