Hey Guys,
This past weekend Rob and I were talking on the phone and he was telling me about his hurricane preparations for then incoming Henri (which included charging up batteries for flashlights and fans). He was also telling me about the damage Hurricane Bob had done 30 years prior. To me this was a foreign concept since I live (in MN) about as far from the 3 coasts
as one can get. It was an interesting discussion to say the least.
This months newsletter we have included articles that hopefully you find useful with the first one being on how to prepare for a hurricane. The second one is how to install replacement windows. Then we have some new tool reviews and as always, the YouTube videos at the end.
Did you know that roughly 29% of the USA's population is in a coastal county? Another fun fact is that 2/3 of that 29% (or almost 20% of total population) live in hurricane susceptible areas. That's why hurricanes and hurricane preparedness is such a big deal. If you live in along the gulf coast or eastern seaboard, this article is for you.
Installing replacement windows is a great DIY project that can help you save thousands of dollars on energy bills over the life of the windows. Replacement window manufacturers have perfected the design of replacement windows so that anyone with moderate do-it-yourself skills can easily install them. I can't remember what tool(s) started the Ryobi resurgence but lately they've just been killing it. Our latest review is no exception. They recently expanded their automotive offerings but do they have enough power to meet the demands of people used to air tools? Click the link to see for yourself.
It's almost hard to believe that Metabo HPT was able to make their new cordless 18ga brad nailer over 30% more compact and lighter than the previous model. Rob tested out these claims as well as ran it through some real job site scenarios. So how did it do? Hit the link to find out.
Do new cordless string trimmers really have the power and runtime to replace their mixed gas counterparts? If you have an urban-sized yard like #TBBCrew Stan then the answer is a resounding yes! Check out the link below to see if a battery-powered trimmer like the Milwaukee will work for your needs.
