  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

Can you imagine what the pandemic would have been like without technology? Just this week I have attended a board meeting, a church service, a class on nonduality, interviewed two people on Zoom, and recorded and posted five new videos online. I have poor cell coverage, so I often use my computer to call people on their phones. It costs about 2 cents a minute. Many have increased their online skill sets during the pandemic, and Zoom stock went through the roof! After the pandemic is over, many companies will no longer fly their executives to in-person board meetings. Video conferencing is cost effective and easier on everyone. While some curse technology, and, yes, it does have its downside, technology joins us to people all over the world and provides formats that allow us to unleash our creativity.

We visited with the twins on Saturday. Thomas is quite the artist and creator. He goes to my Pinterest page on my iPad, selects the craft board on my saved boards and finds something he wants to create. Last weekend he made an airplane out of Popsicle sticks, and this weekend he made a pot full of flowers for his mom. The flowers and pot were cut from colored construction paper, and the flower stems were green pipe cleaners. He also made a sailboat from toothpicks, construction paper, and a sponge. I am so into this. When the boys come over, I set up a large table for them to use to make crafts. Reynolds calls it their office. I even have a craft storage table to hold the supplies when we are not creating.

Life is good in Summerville, S. C. I entrust you with this next week. Make it a wonderful and EZ, or at least EZier, week. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

  Main Article

Nelly

Though I honor the spiritual mountaintop experiences, I am just as enamored with the ordinary. As we delve deep into the ordinary, the ordinary becomes the miracle.

As with all doors, my bedroom door is trimmed with wood. When I glance up from my computer, I can see the right side of the door trim. I look and honor it. This board is unique to this place and is here for a brief time. Today, as I contemplated the board, a larger picture emerged. When did people start putting trim on doors? This trim is made of wood. It once was a stately tree in a remote forest. Someone cut down a beautiful tree and loaded it onto a semi-trailer truck. The tree body rested in the stately trailer, and, with a red flag dangling from the rear, it sped down a superhighway to a mill. It was unloaded, stripped of its bark, and placed in waiting to meet a saw, which would eventually turn it into boards. After a short wait, the tree met its fate. It became boards. The boards were sold, by a salesperson, to wholesale dealers. They were delivered by a trucker who played loud music to keep her from falling asleep.

My trim board, let us call her Nelly, is dressed in a semigloss off-white paint. When did people start painting trim and who thought to trim a door frame? Someone invented paint, and then it was perfected to become the paint that is on my board. Just the process of inventing and making paint involved hundreds, if not thousands, of people. My paint is the child of some brilliant paint chemist who went home and took his family to dinner to celebrate in his discovery. Where had the raw materials been before they became paint? How were these materials taken to the paint manufacturer and who took them there? What wide-eyed salesperson, who wanted to be salesperson of the month, sold those raw products? How many people were involved with his sales training? Did the delivery person with the raw paint materials pass my soon-to-be trim board on its route to the paint plant? Who designed the labels? What company printed them? Who built the paint plant? Who invented the cans that the paint would end up in? Who dug up the iron that would later become a can? Who manufactured the cans? Who sold the paint to the painter that painted my house? Who painted Nelly? Did the painter have enough sleep the night before, or had he cradled a crying baby until the wee hours of the morning? Who invented all the vehicles that the paint, the boards, the salespeople, the cans, the labels, the raw materials, and the factory workers used to bring this board to me? Who made the clothes all the people involved wore when they worked, and how and what did they eat? Certainly, naked starving people could not make anything as miraculous as this happen. Though I could continue to name the millions, if not billions, of events, ideas, dreams, visions, and people who became the architects of the world that brought Nelly to me, I will stop, because by now you should have the picture.

All matter was once a part of another planet or star, so we can surmise that these chemicals, trees, paint – all of it, rolling down a freeway at dusk, are star dust. Part of their makeup has a tiny speck of everything in it. Everything on this planet is connected: the paint, the people, the trees, the factories – everything. As Carl Sagan said, “The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.”

As I look at Nelly, I give thanks for her. She is a miraculous part of my home. Nelly is no less ordinary than Michelangelo’s statue, David. But if I were to look with ordinary eyes, I would overlook the beauty, the marvel, the joys, the sun, the water, the earth, and the lives who made her possible. If I were to look past Nelly, into the room beyond, I would miss the secret, the beauty, the power before me. The mystics say that reality is veiled. The ecstasy, the beauty; everything lies in us and around us, in plain sight, but when we only see a board, we are looking at the veil, not through it, to reality. The majesty of this work of art cannot be seen with our eyes; it must be seen in our mind’s eye.

It is through the quite mind that reality begins to play with, through, and in our minds. It is from the stillness and the blessing of the eternal moment that we arise. This flow moves us from the ordinary to the extraordinary, and when we begin to celebrate all of life with wild abandon, everything becomes EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
