In all the years I've been working with people toward healing and happiness, there is one thing that can be a surefire impediment - striving for
perfectionism.
It may be that you hold yourself to a high (or even impossible) standard, and beat yourself up for not reaching it...
Or feel shame about your body or thoughts...
Or are
trying to live up to an idealized image of what a perfect partner, employee, or parent looks like...
The simple truth is we are not perfect, and the quest for perfection does more harm than good.
You can also try a practice to help you work towards acceptance and self-compassion.
