Good morning! Today,
I have something a little different for you.
I’m a creature of habit.
I've got a routine for when I get up, eat lunch, go to bed, and countless others. I even do the same warm-up for when I play basketball.
So when it comes to uncertainty, that puts me on edge a little
bit.
Maybe you can relate...
For weeks, months, even years, perhaps you've been doing the same things the same way, yet you're not making any progress.
Maybe it's time to "shake it up",
but you're a little nervous because of your fear of failure from the past.
Is it OK if I share with you some encouragement?
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
This verse came in handy my first time exercising...
There I was at my old high school track thinking I'd run 4 laps for a full mile. I decided to walk my first lap to warm up. I didn't know my warm-up would wear me out and I would be out of breath.
At first, I thought it
was too late. I thought I was too fat to even start this journey.
Yet, I stayed on track (pun intended). It was uncomfortable as my routine was TV, not a track ;)
My initial goal was 50lbs. I didn't see myself losing 115!
It's funny how once you realize what's possible - you're motivated to continue...
Sometimes, you just have to do something different and uncomfortable in order to experience change.
And when I say something "different", that could be the little things like...
2 scoops of ice cream after dinner VS the usual 4 scoops...
15 minutes of exercise first thing in the morning before work VS no exercise at night because you're too tired from the work day...
Eating a little bit more protein VS potato chips while watching Netflix...
And maybe, just maybe - challenging yourself to invest just 90 seconds a day
to change your perspective and experience amazing change in your health, personal life, and even with your faith.
It's not a pill. It's not exercise. It's not a diet, either.
This is the best 90-second habit you could start
your day with.
You can do that - c'mon :)
