Sadly, this is
it.Â
Â
It's your ultimatum.
Â
In years past with your new year resolutions, how did you do? Are you pretty much doing the same thing every year like...
Â
"Eat better".Â
"Eat less sugar."Â
"Eat less carbs."Â
"Only have one cheat day."Â
"Go Keto."
Â
Or are you willing to make an important
"shift" in your approach that will actually make a difference as we enter summer?
Â
This is your ultimatum.
Â
In case
you need to catch up, here's the scoop...
Â
3R = Resistance
(R1), Reps (R2), Rotation (R3)Â
Â
One of the reasons I use these "3R" finishers is for people like my client of over 10 years...
Â
When we first met, he was crushing the elliptical for an hour a day, 3-4 days a week. In fact, it's why he came to me. With all that exercise, he still wasn't losing any
weight. He was really frustrated.
Â
The elliptical showed he was burning close to 900 calories.
Â
The thing is... it was a LIE.
Â
A study conducted at the University of California calculated calories burned during exercise using the elliptical.
Â
They used a combination of data from the user’s height, weight and body fat, and then measured the EXACT calories being burned with the latest technology.
Â
The elliptical OVER-estimated calories burned by 28%!
Â
Yikes.
Â
The treadmill wasn't great either, over-estimating calories burned by 13%.
Â
And I'm sure you've seen the popularity of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) on the rise, too.
Â
Look, it's AWESOME. The calories burned over the next 24 - 36 hours are astonishing as your metabolism is cranked up at a whole new level. Even with the over-estimating of calories burned, still... you do burn A LOT
of calories.
Â
However...
Â
HIIT after 40 is really hard on the knees, joints, and hips. It takes longer to recover (as in days VS 12-24 hours).Â
Â
Traditional HIIT is just not a good fit anymore. Â
Â
Another option? High intensity DVDs. The only problem with these is that many of them have a lot of jumping.
Â
Someone in their 20's would recover quickly from this. However, folks like you and I are another story. I don't like to sugarcoat it, but it's the truth :)
Â
So what is the best "cardio" for those 40 and older?Â
Â
There's a formula I use that has helped my clients lose 100+lbs (including myself) and diet less...
Â
- Keep it short (10 minutes or less)
 - Use movements VS just exercise (example: Modified Jumping Jacks VS a treadmill)
 - Use strategic "active" recovery exercises within the sequence
 - Use low to no-impact exercises to allow optimal recovery, increases metabolism, and prevent too much cortisol (a hormone that promotes fat STORAGE)
 - Use a variety of tempos to hit a variety of muscle fibers
Â
For even faster results, you "plug in" this joint-friendly 3R finishers at the end of your
favorite exercise routine.Â
Â
This digs deep into your fat stores and helps you overcome trouble spots, plateaus, and my favorite... allow more wiggle room in your diet. :)
Â
And today, I want to show you 100+ ways to do it...
Â
NEW: 100 ways to do cardio without doing "cardio" for faster results
Â
It's been a year+ in the making...
