Behind the headline

Published: Sun, 03/17/24

Chances are you saw the headline.

"LeBron James becomes first NBA player to score 40,000 points."

What you may not have seen is this:

"James scored his first 10,000 points in the exact same number of games as it took him to go from 30,000 to 40,000.

- 10,000 in 368 games
- 10,000 to 20,000 in 358 games
- 20,000 to 30,000 in 381 games
- 30,000 to 40,000 in 368 games"*

And for those less familiar, he scored his first NBA point on October 29, 2003 and broke through 40,000 points on March 2, 2024 - a span of 20+ years.

I think you'll agree that, amongst the dozens of glowing adjectives that have been heaped upon him, the one that may apply most directly to you and your wholesaling craft is consistently.

If you are in your first five years (first 10,000 points, if you will), what processes, behaviors, and habits are you forming that will enable you to play for the next 15 years?

If you are a seasoned 20+ year vet, how have you conditioned your mind and body for the rigors of the game?

How exactly does a wholesaler make it to "40,000 points"?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Hit REPLY and share them.
