His grandfather, who still milks cows at 77 years old, advised him to always follow his heart and that everything will work out if you are true to your personal decisions. Meet Lucas Kramer, one of six recipients of the WROF, Inc. Premier Program of Scholarship Awards!
This advice has helped Lucas to focus on his love of farming. Faced with tough decisions while balancing a busy schedule filled with obligations from school, multiple sports teams, a job milking cows, and
chores on his own family’s farm, Lucas has learned to make priorities that ring true to his heart. Lucas grew up on a small, diversified dairy and beef farm in Wauzeka, WI, extensively involved in all its aspects. Having always had an interest in building things and with an understanding of the dairy industry, Lucas hopes to improve the occupation and technology of farming, an industry that is changing. This fall, he will embark on his dream of keeping agriculture moving forward by earning a
degree in Agricultural Engineering at Iowa State University.
This summer is surely a busy one for Lucas! Lucas works at a local dairy farm where he milks the cows and
tends to newborn calves. He is also showing several dairy herds at dairy cattle shows throughout the summer. Lucas says that he is looking forward to the fall when he can meet new people, with whom he’ll share with most of them a rural connection.
Please join us in congratulating Lucas Kramer!
