Taking extensive care of the animals on her family's dairy and beef farm in Lone Rock, WI has made her aware of the importance of establishing trusting relationships with farmers to ensure their animals are receiving the care that they need.
Meet Kortney Sebranek, one of six recipients of the WROF, Inc. Premier Program of Scholarship Awards! Kortney has been involved on her family's farm, from feeding, bedding, vaccinating, milking, tending to the
young stock, and providing all-around care - in addition to raising her own herd of goats. Kortney also provides the animals with medical treatment and special care for illnesses when needed. The medical aspects of her responsibilities has led Kortney to become interested in animal health. This fall, she will attend UW-Platteville to begin her studies in pre-veterinary medicine. Kortney hopes to eventually become a large-animal veterinarian at a local vet clinic so that she can continue building
relationships with clients and help them gain a better understanding of animal care.
"Part of having a good veterinarian-client bond is open communication,
where clients feel comfortable asking questions about their animal's care," says Kortney. "I plan to support the agricultural industry in this way because I was raised on a farm, and I realize the essentiality it serves to the world."
Please join us in congratulating Kortney Sebranek!
