While her journey to becoming a food animal veterinarian might look different from some (she didn't grow up on a farm!), she is a third-year student at the School of Veterinary Medicine at UW-Madison, with help from the Sue Schultz WROF, Inc. Board Scholar Award. Meet Kailey Wichman!
Upon graduation, Kailey says that she is determined to address the current vet shortage in rural Wisconsin, and she hopes to work preferably with dairy cows at a large animal veterinary clinic. In her acceptance speech at the second annual WROF, Inc. Award
Celebration Luncheon, Kailey explained the importance of having good relationships with clients which she feels will have a positive impact on the overall health of farm animals. She said that she hopes she will be so successful in developing relationships, that her best day in veterinary care will never be her client's worst day.
With deep admiration and gratitude to the WROF, Inc. Board of Directors, the WROF, Inc. Board Scholar Award program is made possible by the generosity of its members, both current and emeritus, and matching gifts of the WROF, Inc.
Please stay tuned to meet additional WROF, Inc. Board Scholars in upcoming e-newsletters!
